The Christian view of psychics is that they are deeply rooted in the occult, which is diametrically opposed to the teachings of the Bible. Throughout the Bible, we are warned against divination and spiritualism, which are two practices closely associated with modern psychics. The Bible never condones or encourages a person to seek advice through the use of psychics. Rather, we are encouraged to seek counsel through prayer and study of God’s word, in line with what He has revealed to us through Scripture. Ultimately, the Christian view of psychics is one of avoidance rather than acceptance.

Throughout the Bible, we are warned against divination and spiritualism, which are two practices closely associated with modern psychics. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 warns: “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord.” Furthermore, Isaiah 8:19 says, “When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?” These verses demonstrate that, rather than consulting psychics, Christians should seek counsel through prayer and reading the Bible.
