The Bible has a lot to say about Christian tithing and the importance of it in the life of the believer. In Malachi 3:10, God says, “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” This passage makes it clear that tithing is an important part of being a faithful Christian and that God will reward those who obey Him by providing abundance in their lives.

The New Testament also speaks highly of tithing. In Matthew 23:23, Jesus said, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.” This passage shows us that tithing is just as important as other aspects of following God’s law.

For many people, the question of whether or not to tithe as a Christian can be viewed differently. Some may see it as a rule that must be followed to stay in God’s good graces. Others may view it as a way to show gratitude and appreciation to God for all He has done in our lives and to maintain an attitude of stewardship.

Ultimately, the decision to tithe is a personal one and should be based on the individual’s level of faith and commitment to God. All Christians should prayerfully consider the issue to determine what is right for them. There is no wrong answer and whatever decision is made, it should be done out of love and devotion to God.
