How Love Is Relevant In Christian Living

The King James Bible is very clear on the importance of love in Christian living. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 says, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

This passage is often referred to as the “love chapter” because it so beautifully describes what love is and how it should look in our lives. As Christians, we are called to love others unconditionally, just as God has loved us. This can be a difficult task, but it is essential to living a Christ-like life.

When we love others, we are showing them the same love and grace that God has shown us. We are also modeling the type of love that Jesus showed us when he sacrificially gave his life for our sins. When we love others, we are pointing them to the ultimate source of love – God himself.

So, how can we love others like this? First, we need to have a heart that is full of love. We need to be constantly seeking after God’s heart and allowing him to fill us with his love. Then, we need to be intentional about showing love to those around us.

This may look like smiling and saying hello to people we see every day, or it may mean going out of our way to help someone in need. Whatever it looks like, we need to be purposeful about showing love to those around us.

When we do this, we are living out our faith and pointing others to the ultimate source of love – God himself.
