The Importance Of Goodness In Christian Living

Christianity is based on the belief in one God who created the world and all that exists in it. Christians believe in the Bible as the authoritative word of God, and that it is the complete guide for Christian living. The Bible teaches that God is good, and that goodness is an important virtue for Christians to live by.

The Old Testament Book of Psalms says, “O taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man that trusteth in him” (Psalm 34:8). The New Testament Book of James says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights” (James 1:17).

These verses show that God is the source of all goodness, and that Christians should trust in Him. The New Testament Book of Romans says, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness” (Romans 1:18).

This verse shows that God is angry with those who do not live according to His standards of goodness. The New Testament Book of Colossians says, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him” (Colossians 3:17).

This verse shows that Christians should do everything they do in a way that honors God and shows thankfulness to Him. Goodness is an important virtue for Christians to live by because it is a reflection of the goodness of God.
